But 100 years later, the Negro still is not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred years later, the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later the Negro is still languished in the corners of American society and finds himself in exile in his own land. And so we've come here today to dramatize a shameful condition. In a sense we've come to our nation's capital to cash a check.
So even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.
I Have a Dream" speech, delivered on Aug. 28, 1963, on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
Following President Jacob Zuma's resignation in February 2018, Cyril Ramaphosa was elected unopposed as President of South Africa by the National Assembly on 15 February 2018.
And like so many South Africans Black, White, Colored and Indian we rejoiced and united in the faith and hope that our people and country would finally heal and prosper from
the brutality of poor leadership encountered by the previous regime.
Like Dr Martin Luther King Jnr, we too began to dream again. We dreamed of a South Africa where all men are created equal. We dreamed of a South Africa where basic human rights of Food, Water and Shelter is not a privilege but accessible to all South Africans. We dreamed of a South Africa where the safety of all its people especially woman and children are protected and nurtured. We dreamed of a South Africa where poverty and violence was a thing of the past. We dreamed of a South Africa, United in One Mind to make our country great, a country where we are able to leave an inheritance for our children's children.
Saul Anointed King
10 Then Samuel took a flask of oil and poured it on his head and kissed him and said, “Has not the Lord anointed you to be prince[a] over his people Israel? And you shall reign over the people of the Lord and you will save them from the hand of their surrounding enemies.
I wept for you Mr. President because just like Samuel who anointed Saul to be King of Israel when the people cried out for a King, you were anointed to be President of South Africa. And we to as a nation rejoiced as you were called to lead over this people and great land.
Then the word of the Lord came to Samuel: 11 “I regret that I have made Saul king, because he has turned away from me and has not carried out my instructions.” Samuel was angry, and he cried out to the Lord all that night.
I wept for you Mr. President just as Samuel cried out to the Lord that night because of the regret of God making you the President of South Africa. Like Saul you have chosen to worry more about the needs and desires of your inner cabinet instead of the purposes placed by God in you to lead the people of South Africa.
Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has rejected you as king.”
I wept for you Mr. President because like Saul you have being rejected as the President of South Africa.
I wept for you Mr. President because like Saul the anointing has left you.
I wept for you Mr. President because like Saul after the anointing left him we begin to see him derail in madness and instability in his ruling.
I wept for you Mr. President because we see the madness and instability in your instability to govern South Africa.
The Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel?
We as South Africans rejoice as we unite in prayer and authority unto God that he has and will anoint another, Just like David, a man after God's own Heart.
Change will come for our country as Godly men and women of God begin to arise and take their place in leadership in Government.
