The Balancing Scale

ree

The greatest lie that we have being told as woman by woman is that we can have it all. Unfortunately, we cannot have it all, because we cannot do it all. The second greatest lie that we have being told as woman mostly by woman is that you just need to find the perfect balance, the sweet spot where we are able to have the perfect Work - Life Balance.

The perfect balancing scale where we perfect managing our marriages, kids, careers and home. No one suffers; each aspect of our life's gets 100% of our time and commitment.

But as I sit here, reading the latest article on how to attain work life balance, how you can balance and juggle everything to be successful, I realise as a woman how gullible we have become to attain something that is so impossible. The 4am and 5am morning wake up club. The Sunday Reset to start your week successfully, the Friday reset, so you can enjoy your weekend. The list and advice are endless and has opened the way for many women to become successful entrepreneurs on social media. Their target, woman who are exhausted, frustrated and unhappy, because they are trying to reach the unattainable Work Life Balance. They are trying to balance the scale of life.

John 10:10 says: The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy, I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.

John 15: 11 says: These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have joy, said Jesus, that your joy may be full.

The question I ask you today as a fellow woman is, are you truly happy. Not the happiness that you get from completing all your tasks at work or taking care of others. Not the happiness that comes from having a positive bank balance. But are you filled with such a supernatural joy that surpasses all human understanding. You see, happiness is fleeting, it can be there in a moment and gone in another.

Joy is permanent, joy does not stay just because its surroundings is conducive to it. Joy is there regardless, of the trials and tribulations that you may face. Joy does not allow us to fall into the trap of depression and bitterness; it reminds us that we are made for something and someone greater.

This joy, I believe is attained when we discover the purpose that we were created for and above all Who's purpose we were created for.

Jeremiah 29:11“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

We were created for a purpose and a time such as this. We were created for Gods purpose to be fulfilled in this earth and then eventually eternity with him.

When we know God's purpose life gets a lot clearer, the journey and everyday life get more meaningful. We are not competing with each other or comparing our success to others.

We start living on Gods schedule and Gods direction, where he is place above everything in our lives. And everything else falls into place the way it was intended to be.
