The Eye Of The Storm

I was having a conversation with my husband the other night and we were discussing just how time has gone pass so quickly. We thought back to that unforgettable night of 23 March 2020. We were celebrating my nieces birthday that evening and after the celebrations we gathered in the lounge and listened to the news broadcast as our country went into lock down. Looking back, I do not think any of us really understood the ramifications of all of this. As I packed away my stuff from work and said goodbye to my colleagues that Thursday, I knew that I would see them in a months time and business as usual it would be. Fast forward, four months later I have still not seeing any of my colleagues... Who knew that my nieces birthday would be the last birthday that we would be able to celebrate in the coming months after that announcement. I tried to see it as a months holiday but as time progressed and companies started to put workers on short time, lay offs and eventually retrenchment. Poverty, as well as depression and violence in homes began to increase. Experts now say that we have entered the Eye Of The Storm as we all have seen the rise in infections and covid deaths in our country. I do not think there is anyone out there who does not know of someone who has being affected or infected by covid 19. But through all of the above occurring, I do not think that anything could of prepared us for the shock, humiliation, utter disgust and anger that we would feel upon hearing a few days ago that 200 billion rand was mishandled from the relief fund. And so when you hear and see all this bad stuff happening around you, you can begin to feel really defeated....
Romans 8 vs 28. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.
As Ambassadors For Christ we have the power to turn something that was meant for evil, to turn it around and glorify God. Like many working moms out there, I found it difficult balancing marriage, family, ministry and work. I always found that I never had quiet enough time. And then suddenly, my greatest desire was granted. Time literally stood still and there was nothing to do, nowhere to be, no deadline to meet, no meeting to attend and no errand to run. This pandemic allowed me to have the time to focus and spend quality time with my family. With take away and restaurants closed, it gave me the opportunity to appreciate the simple things in life like preparing meals for my family. With all this time available the pandemic gave us the greatest opportunity of all. It allowed us to be RESET. It allowed us to reevaluate our lives, our relationships, the way we spend our time, our goals, dreams and purpose in life. This pandemic allowed business ideas and dreams that were once dormant in us to arise to the surface once again to be released.
Matthew Chapter 5 vs 14. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
As experts and scientists predict that we are once again entering the eye of the storm, the perfect storm, a new way of life ( The new normal ). As Ambassadors For Christ we emerge from this pandemic and enter the eye of the storm RESET!!! We do not pull back, but advance forward courageously amid all the chaos and negativity around us. Let us never forget that we are the light of the world. And that light shines in all aspects of our lives, families, businesses, careers, sport and relationships. That light shines above retrenchment, poverty, corruption and fear. We are the light that shines bright in a dark world.
